What is a Data Security Policy?

A data security policy helps Atlassian admins keep their organization’s data secure by letting them govern how users, apps, and people outside of their organization can interact with content such as Confluence pages and Jira issues.

Situation

This project involved inheriting and taking the lead on a feature with a significant footprint. However, there were challenges with shaky stakeholder relationships and a lack of confidence from senior design leaders. Resolving these issues required a strategic approach and effective communication to rebuild trust and ensure a successful outcome for the feature's development.

Tasks

I kept on track, a low-quality experience was identified, and the team was led to set a future vision while maintaining milestones.

Actions I took

Led team through

  • quality audits

  • vision workshops

  • near-term improvements

  • content uplift

  • product + eng commitments

  • Multiple quality gates

Results

The feature development process had stayed on track, meeting the established timelines and objectives. A significant milestone was achieved as there was successful buy-in from senior design stakeholders, indicating alignment on project goals and direction. Usability testing had also seen notable improvements, enhancing the overall user experience. The project is in active development, progressing steadily towards its completion.
